Hermes

Hermès of Paris is a French high fashion luxury goods maison that specializes in leather, lifestyle accessories, home furnishings, perfumery, jewellery, watches and ready-to-wear. Thierry Hermès first established Hermès in 1837 as a harness workshop dedicated to serving European noblemen where he created high-quality wrought harnesses and bridles for the carriage trade. During the 1930s, Hermès created some of its most iconic products, such as the leather "Kelly bag" after Grace Kelly and the Hermès carrés (square scarves). The iconic scarves are created by designers that spend years creating new print patterns that are individually screen-printed in more than 70,000 different colours. An Hermès scarf was sold somewhere in the world every 25 seconds; by the late 1970s. Hermès is also widely known for its luxurious handmade bags that might each require 18 to 24 hours to produce. Such as the famous "Birkin" named after English actress Jane Birkin and the Kelly. Hermès's leathers come from all over the world hence customers may wait from six months to one year for their bags.
