Issey Miyake

Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer known for his technology-driven designs, exhibitions and fragrances. Miyake was born on April 22, 1938 in Hiroshima, Japan. He studied graphic design at the Tama Art University in Tokyo post which he worked in fashion forward cities like Paris and New York City. Returning to Tokyo in 1970, he founded the Miyake Design Studio, a high-end producer of women's fashion. He began to experiment with new methods of pleating that would allow both flexibility of movement for the wearer as well as ease of care and production. And hence movement and functionality became the brands ethos. The sought after Bao Bao bag by Issey Miyake is a perennial favourite among architects and designers. “Bao Bao Issey Miyake is a line of bags and pouches with the theme of 'shapes made by chance'," said the brand. "It features a flexible functionality perfect for busy modern lifestyles” Incorporate a little bit of architectural modernity with an edge of luxury with fine picks from Issey Miyake from labelcentric.com
